We had a great breakfast! Way more than I could even eat after passing my ham and half my bacon to my husband. I think what I had was called Ultimate French Toast. Great French toast btw.

this was my first time here, and I was amazed at the variety of choices. you may order breakfast all day. They also have lunch and dinner. I had the Florentine Benedict with home fries. It was excellent. The French toast was thick bread, and excellent. The bacon was fried crispy as requested. The coffee was very good. Our server kept all of the drinks filled. We didn't have to ask for anything. The field greens salad was fresh. Seems like there was every kind of dressing imaginable. The restaurant was very clean, the price was fair based on the quality of the food we stopped here on the way to the airport

Had eggs any style with house potatoes and sausage. Eggs were delightful, toast with butter to die for, sausage a "yes", potatoes meh. Overall service and food was well worth the trip!

Central Diner and Grille is a little more upscale than a typical diner. Their menu lists breakfast foods such as omelettes and French toast, lunch foods such as wraps and specialty sandwiches, dinner foods such as steaks and pastas, and desserts such as tiramisu and cheesecake. Prices are average. In the past couple of years, my husband and I have eaten at this diner at least four times. For all of our meals, our seating hostesses and waiters performed their jobs promptly and courteously. Here are my ratings for our foods: Belgian waffle with berries - 5 stars Bacon - 5 stars Eggs Benedict - 3 stars (the Canadian bacon was too thick and hard) Home fries - 3 stars Bagel with cream cheese - 4 stars House salads - 4 stars Greek salad - 4.5 stars Crab mushrooms - 4 stars French onion soup - 4 stars Poutine - 4.5 stars Gyro - 4 stars Beef burger - 4.5 stars Chicken parmesan - 4.5 stars Scallops - 4.5 stars Onion rings - 4 stars Mashed potatoes - 3 stars Asparagus - 4.5 stars Carrot cake - 4.5 stars

Food portions are massive, if you leave here hungry you did something wrong. Easily two or three meals at great prices. Food was delicious. Great service and lively in the restaurant. Breakfast and brunch here is also amazing. Menu is extensive. Can't wait to try more!

The people at this place, specifically Mary Beth, the manager, captures what the spirit of Pittsburgh is all about. Her hospitality and kindness has meant so much to my family. My dad has been undergoing intense treatment for cancer and does not want to eat indoors right now due to his immune system. Central Diner has two lovely covered patios, which has given us opportunities to dine at Central Diner even when it is raining. Mary Beth always ensures we have a safe seat outside. The extensive menu full of delicious dishes and weekly specials allow us to have such a variety of options to choose from that we could eat at Central Diner and never tire. While all of our servers have been so prompt, personable, and kind, Mary Beth has gone out of her way each time we are there to make sure we have any special accommodations. Her understanding, care, concern, and extra surprises of love have touched us so many times and been a consistent source of brightness during a challenging time. She celebrates good news from treatment results with us and encourages us. What a blessing she has been to my family and how appreciative we are of the haven that Central Diner has become to our family. A place to unwind and relax during a stressful season with delicious food and wonderfully kind service. What more could we ask for? Writing this review brings tears to my eyes. Thank you to the Central Diner staff and to Mary Beth for your love! Central Diner's service is exceptional. It will continue to hold a special place in our hearts forever. Sincerely, Pittsburgher For Life

I took my mom to Central Diner for her birthday and we had a great experience! The burger was delicious & I LOVED the sweet potato fries! My mom said her wrap was also delicious and she was obsessed with their coleslaw. Our server was so kind and did a wonderful job navigating the lunch rush. It was my first time sitting outdoors and I loved it! The patio is an adorable space with plenty of room between tables. They also had ceiling fans which totally helped keep us cool with the heat. All around, it was a great trip & I 100% recommend you try those sweet potato fries hehe!

Little pricy but worth it, great food! Their deserts are to die for, huge servings Place is always busy but not a problem I'd got out of my way to eat there!
